Swedish Football Association To Provide Coaching Education In Collaboration With TCIFA Through UEFA Assist- UEFA Member Association Support

The Swedish Football Association will, in collaboration with TCIFA, arrange and carry out a number of courses within the area of coaching education, which will take place during the spring of 2020. The activities have been preceded by an on-site visit by Swedish F.A. coach educators Per Widén (also Head of Technical Department) and Ramin Kiani in order to find out the needs of TCIFA in this matter.

The out-come of this visit is that the Swedish F.A. will take responsibility of staging two coaching courses for youth coaches, two courses for coaches specializing in match analysis and football fitness respectively, and one course directed at coaches on senior level as the primary target group, comprising 16 hours. The content of this course will be tactics of the modern football, football leadership and fitness in football.

As a follow up of the activities above, a delegation of TCIFA staff members will go to Sweden for a study visit at the Swedish F.A. the precise programme of this visit will be worked out later on.


Schedule Of Five Courses:

  1. March 30th: Match analysis

  2. April 1: Football Physiology/Fitness

  3. April 4-5: Senior Football (theoretical and practical sessions- B Level Course)

  4. April 6th: Grassroots level 1, for coaches in the age group 6 -9 years, (theoretical and practical sessions)

  5. April 7th: Grassroots level 2, 10-14 years, (theoretical and practical sessions)

1. Match Analysis


In this specific course we will look into different aspects on match analysis, as;

- What is the need and motives of analysis in training and matches?

- What is the benefit and prospects of documenting what is done in training and matches?

- How can digital aid and tools be used and managed by the coaching staff?

- How can we use the out-come and conclusions from training sessions and transfer them to the tactics of the team?

- Best practice in methods used by the Swedish FA in match analysis.

• Target group: All coaches who want to improve their knowledge and abilities from an analytical and coaching point of view.

• Duration: 4 hours

• Equipment needed: everyone needs their own computer (not obligatory)

• Location: TCIFA National Academy, Providenciales. (Only theoretical work).


2. Football Physiology/ Fitness

In this course we look into the prerequities for high performance. We will consider points as;

- How to create winning tactics

- What is the essence of “keeping players on the pitch”? How can we include football fitness in all parts of the training?

- Warm-up or preparatory training?

- How can the four football fitness qualities be applied in practical training sessions?

- Week periodization/phases; what is the implication for weekly planning of training sessions?

• Target group: All coaches who want to increase their knowledge in team performance and team tactics (whereof physical fitness is one part)

• Duration: 4 hours (all participants expected to take part in practical session)

• Location: TCIFA National Academy, Providenciales

• Practical session: 75 minutes


3. Senior Football (B-level course)

During this course the participants will look deeper into game tactics, football leadership and football fitness. The course aims at being very inter-active and the participants are expected to exchange views and experience with each other. Theoretical sessions are layered with practical moments.

- Playing systems/team tactics; the participants will challenge each other in theoretical matches.

- We will look into the Swedish National Football Teams (men’s/women’s) and their tactics and strategies to handle all phases of the fluid game (build-up, attacking play, transitions and defending.)

- Match analysis

- What do we mean when we talk about ”a positive player development environment”?

- What is indicated by ”motivational environment”? What leadership strategies and qualities are we looking for? What does ”pricipals” stand for?

- What is a ”learning environment”? Any principles? What kind of leadership manners can support the principles?

- Communication; what is most important? What is a ”good communicator” characterized by?

- How do we carry out weekly training planning in relation to the training week’s phases?

- Practical session; participants account for demo practice? • Target group: Coaches working on senior level or Under 17-19.

• Duration: 16 hours

• Equipment: Tactical board, computer, track suits for practical session.

• Location: TCIFA National Academy, Providenciales

• Practical session: Day 2, 13.00 – 16.00

• Player squad for training: 20 + 2 (Youth players 16 – 20 y)


4. Grassroots Course Level 1, age group: 8 – 10 years

During this course we will take a look on the most important aspects of coaching kids. Football kids have different needs and motifs, for different reasons. A perspective of rights for children is always considered and a red thread in this course. Questions to ask:

- How do we create intense acticivity in training for children?

- What kind of needs do children have in football training?

- How do we create a good development environment for children?

- The importance of a playful atmosphere for children?

- How can we create a good learning environmet for children? Important factors.

• Target group: Coaches/teachers who works with children.

• Duration: 4 hours

• Location: TCIFA National Academy, Providenciales

• Practical session: 60 minutes

• Player squad: 12 players, 8-10 years


5. Grassroots Level 2, age group 10 – 14 years:

This course is a further education course following Level 1. We will work on and go deeper into the topics taken up in the former course. Focus will be on the game, football leadership and football fitness in a youth football perspective.

Topics:

- How can the game itself be the best teacher? How do we increase game intelligence from playing exercises?

- How do we create an intense and joyful level of acticity in children’s football?

- What are the primary needs of children?

- How do we create an optimal learning and development environment?

- What is the main importance of a joyful atmosphere in children’s football??

- How do we create an efficient and responsible learning environment for children?

  • Target group: Children’s coaches/teachers.

  • Duration: 4 hours

  • Location: TCIFA National Academy, Providenciales

  • Practical session: 90 min

  • Player squad: 16+2 players, 10-14 years
