Darren was raised in Blackpool, Lancashire. He had first football experience when he played for BJFF under coach, Gary Leegate, and represented his high school by playing for under coach David Barnes, ex Fleetwood player.  At the age of 26 he joined the Fire Service ,and quickly progressed up the ranks to becoming an officer. He represented the Fire Service at both a local and international level.

Daz played semi professional football for various teams within the Northern Football League, Blackpool Combination, North West counties league. He is a former player manager of Brannigans FC  - United Kingdom (Winning Promotion twice) Blackpool and Fylde league 1 and 2 (2005-2008), former Head coach Excelsior FC - United Kingdom (Winning promotion and league cup) Blackpool and Fylde league 1 (2008-2011), Former Player of the GB Fire Service Team - United Kingdom (Won silver medal in The World FireFighter games in Hong Kong, 2006), and Head Coach South Shore FC - United Kingdom Poulton and district league (2011-2015). 

Daz now plays for The Sharks Football Club in the Turks and Caicos Islands Provo Premier League. He is also the Head coach of TCI Women’s National Team (2015-2016). 

Daz began working as the Technical Director of the TCIFA in January 2016, overseeing the long-term strategies for development of both coaches and players at all levels within the country, striving to improve the National Team programme, and ensuring that they have a connected programme as the philosophies implemented with the senior team are being shared across all the youth teams.
