Talent Development Scheme(TDS) Program 〰️
The TCIFA Talent Development Pathway is designed for young individuals who not only exhibit exceptional talent but also possess the ambition and mindset essential for continuous growth and improvement. It encompasses football skills, academic competencies, and other elements to ensure a comprehensive approach to each child's development. Participants are expected to demonstrate commitment and discipline, both on and off the pitch, inspiring them to reach their full potential as athletes and individuals.
At the Turks and Caicos Islands Football Association (TCIFA), we hold the belief that every child with a passion for football deserves the opportunity to excel. We take pride in our involvement with FIFA’s Talent Development Scheme (TDS), a global initiative designed to support young players in realizing their full potential. This program aims to create opportunities for both boys and girls throughout our islands, establishing a clear pathway for their growth in the sport they cherish, while also imparting life skills that extend well beyond the football field.
Purpose:
The Talent Development Pathway is a national initiative designed to identify, nurture, and support young players with high potential across the country. Its purpose is to create a positive, player-centered environment that focuses on long-term development both on and off the pitch.
Through high-quality coaching, structured learning experiences, and consistent national standards, the program aims to help each player grow in confidence, skill, and character, while promoting TCIFA values.
This pathway is not just about preparing players for elite football but about developing well-rounded individuals.
Who are involved?:
The TCIFA Talent Development Pathway is initiating its efforts by scouting players in two primary age groups:
Boys Under-12
Girls Under-14
TCIFA aims to cultivate talent for its national teams. Consequently, selected players must possess either a TCI or British passport or be in the process of obtaining one. Additionally, selected players are required to have an active National Health Insurance Plan (NHIP) and must be registered in the TCIFA player registration database.
Where Do We Look for Talent?:
Our program reaches across the Turks and Caicos Islands, making sure no talent is left out:
Providenciales
Grand Turk
North Caicos
Middle Caicos
South Caicos
Regardless of the island a player considers their home, they will have the opportunity to be recognized, supported, and guided.
This is a selection-based program. Players will be identified through the grassroots football initiative and subsequently invited to participate in the program.
When Does Training Occur?:
There will be weekly TDS group training sessions held in Providenciales and Grand Turk.
In North, Middle, and South Caicos, players will be scouted through the grassroots football program and invited to participate in the best development opportunities available throughout the year. Players will continue their weekly training in the football program. The TCIFA Talent Development Lead will maintain regular communication with program coaches to monitor each player's progress.
The TCIFA Talent Development Pathway operates year-round, providing young players with continuous opportunities to learn, train, and elevate their skills.
Our Promise to Parents/Guardians:
This program transcends the mere development of exceptional football players; it is fundamentally about fostering personal growth in children. Through the principles of teamwork, discipline, and resilience, we are cultivating young leaders equipped to thrive both on the field and in life.
By being chosen for this transformative journey, your child will join a larger community that champions their aspirations and provides a pathway to future opportunities.
