The TCIFA is pleased to announce its 7th player to benefit from a football scholarship.

Ms. Love Shinaydine Pluviose (affectionately called Shinaydine); has been awarded a scholarship with the Garden State Community College in Kansas, USA.

Shinaydine, who is 17 years old, started with our grassroots program and developed to eventually play in the Women’s League on one of the two Academy teams. She has also played a very active role as a Youth Academy Coach and a Referee. After showing remarkable progress in her technical skills as a player, she was invited to train with the Boys U17 Academy Team where she made tremendous strides. Shinaydine was also a committed referee and participated in many coaching courses.

A Graduate of Clement Howell High School in 2015, she passed 9 CXCs (8 of them being either Grade 1 or 2). Over the years, this young lady has continued to be well-mannered, kind, honest, and dependable; a model any well-thinking individual would be happy to adapt.

According to her coach Oliver Smith “Shinaydine has shown tremendous growth both as a player and a young lady. This is reflected in her academic achievements and her tactical and technical development as a footballer. This scholarship is reward for all her hard work and the association’s objectives; which include rewarding similar situated players as we continue to develop and grow the sport in the Turks and Caicos Islands”

Born May 24, 1998 to her mother Marie Marcelle Dorelus, Shinaydine has always been like a beacon to her siblings and other youths in her community. “I never ever have a problem with Shinaydine…”; this quote from her mom is a reflection of the qualities this young lady continues to display throughout her upbringing.

With her outstanding attributes on and off the field, the Association; through our Vice President and coach, Oliver Smith did recommend her to the Garden City College. Shinaydine started her 2-year college program on Monday January 11, 2016 and will receive an Associates degree in Business Administration on completion.
