The Turks and Caicos Islands Football Association Expands Talent Development Pathway Program with Successful Scouting Trip to North Caicos
The Turks and Caicos Islands Football Association (TCIFA) is proud to announce the successful completion of a talent scouting trip to North Caicos, as part of its ongoing commitment to develop young football talent across the islands. On Saturday, March 14, TCIFA Talent Development Lead, Lenford Sing, and FIFA Talent Coach, Eilidh Mackay, visited the island to scout promising players involved in the local football program.
This scouting initiative is a key component of the TCIFA Talent Development Pathway (TDP), a national program dedicated to identifying, nurturing, and supporting young players with significant potential. The TDP aims to foster a positive, player-centered environment that emphasizes long-term development, both on and off the pitch.
The visit to North Caicos is part of a broader strategy to ensure that young players from all islands are afforded the opportunity to be recognized and supported within the national development framework. By expanding access to the game and enhancing player development structures, TCIFA aims to identify talented players early and guide them through a clear pathway toward national team opportunities, assisting them in achieving their football aspirations.
TCIFA extends its gratitude to Development Officer Mr. Stafford Salmon, who leads the grassroots football program in North Caicos, for his invaluable support in organizing the Talent ID event. His dedication to local football is crucial in helping the association reach and develop young talent.
Acting General Secretary, Candia Ewing, expressed her enthusiasm, saying, “ By extending our reach, we aim to provide equal opportunities to young talents across every corner of our islands. This scouting trip to North Caicos is not just a crucial step in this direction; it embodies our dedication to discovering and nurturing potential wherever it may lie. We believe that every aspiring athlete deserves the chance to shine, and we are devoted to supporting them on their journey to success through the Talent Development Pathway.”
