DHL Delivers Manchester United to Turks & Caicos Islands Fans
DHL has joined Manchester United, one of the world largest football clubs, in reaching their fans around the world through a global football competition called UNITED DELIVERED The first match was hosted in Old Trafford, the home of Manchester United, and since then the UNITED DELIVERED match ball is being sent on a tour around the globe via DHL. With the initiative of Mark Parrish, one of the TCIFA’s Volunteer Coaches, the match ball made its debut in the Turks and Caicos Islands on the morning of Saturday, February 24th with a friendly 9v9 match involving the young female players of the Turks & Caicos Islands Football Association.
In addition to delivering the match ball, The TCIFA and its players were supplied with an UNITED DELIVERED legacy kit made up of match equipment including bibs, cones, and goals; all of which were allowed to be kept as tokens. The Red Team’s goalkeeper, Daisy Nicholls, was voted the game’s Most Valuable Player and was awarded a UNITED DELIVERED replica match ball following the game.
In a previous press release, Manchester United’s Group managing Director, Richard Arnold, had this to say: “To be able to have our fans connect and share their love for the Club through playing football is great to see. The prize on offer of an exclusive trip to Old Trafford is something that fans throughout the world dream about and we are delighted to be able to make this happen with the support of DHL.” In attendance to the Turks & Caicos match was DHL representative, Alex Schick.
Ultimately, one match host will be chosen as the winner of a trip to Old Trafford with a team of five players to take part in a special, final match against a group of fans from Manchester.
