TCIFA's Eridania Medina-Ortiz Honored as TCI Women In Sport's Athlete of the Quarter

Eridania Medina-Ortiz, a standout athlete from the Turks and Caicos Islands Football Association (TCIFA) has been recognised as the Athlete of the Quarter by TCI Women In Sports.

Eridania's remarkable achievements include stand-out performances as the goalkeeper with the fewest goals allowed in consecutive seasons in the Women's Soccer League. Her stellar performance was evident during the multiple editions of the FORTIS LEAGUE for Under 17s, and she displayed outstanding performance in another sports discipline when her team captured the gold medal at the National Girls' Softball Tournament in 2022.

Notably, representing the Cheshire Hall Club, Eridania clinched victories in the Knockout Cup and consistently secured podium finishes in the Women's League.

This talented goalkeeper matriculated to the Junior and Senior National Football Teams of the Turks and Caicos Islands, and she made her mark internationally initially in making her FIFA Friendlies debut in Beach Soccer with the National Team winning a bronze medal in the 2022 Beach Soccer Tournament in the Bahamas.

Eridania was recently recognised by Concacaf as the Goalkpeer with the most saves in both the October 2023 and November 2023 editions of the Concacaf Road to Gold Cup tournament

Off the field, Eridania remains a stellar student, consistently ranking among the top in her class and showcasing her dedication both in academics and sports. Her commitment to excellence and passion for the sport mirrors her identity with the national team, making her an accurate role model for aspiring athletes.
