TCIFA U8-U10 Girl's League Successfully Kicks Off With FIFA Women's Development Support

The future of women's football in the Turks and Caicos Islands has taken another exciting step forward. On Saturday, June 13, 2026, the Turks and Caicos Islands Football Association (TCIFA) proudly launched the U8/U10 FIFA Women's Development League, marking the beginning of a new chapter in the growth and development of the women's game across the nation.

Designed for girls in the Under-8 and Under-10 age groups, the league aims to provide a fun, safe, and inclusive environment where young players can develop their football skills, build confidence, and foster a lifelong love for the game. Through regular competition and structured coaching, the initiative will serve as an important foundation for the future of women's football in the Turks and Caicos Islands.

The U8/U10 FIFA Women's Development League is made possible through support from the FIFA Women's Development Programme, which seeks to increase opportunities for girls to participate in football and strengthen pathways for the women's game worldwide.

As part of the programme's implementation, participation was extended to schools throughout the Turks and Caicos Islands. To ensure the successful delivery of the league, the TCIFA hosted the FIFA Women's Development League Coaching Course, equipping 18 aspiring coaches with the knowledge and practical skills needed to lead football activities within their respective schools and communities.

This investment in coach education reflects the TCIFA's commitment to sustainable football development, recognizing that well-trained coaches are essential to creating positive experiences for young players and nurturing future talent.

The launch of the league represents more than just a competition; it is an investment in the next generation of female footballers. By creating accessible opportunities for girls to participate in the sport from an early age, the TCIFA is committed to strengthening its grassroots football programmes and build a clear pathway for player development, from school based football to national team representation.
